During both presentations of Seat Ateka 2016-2017, it became the subject of genuine interest, both from journalists and ordinary people. No wonder, because the model really turned out to be stylish and memorable, and the use of the modular MQB platform, which we already met on the last Polo and Tiguan, undoubtedly became only a plus in marketing promotion for the crossover.

It should be noted right away that the new Seat Ateka 2016-2017 is a cast. Almost the entire car can be called modular. So, for example, the optics that we met on the New Superb are striking, if you do not pay attention to the rest of the appearance, you will notice that almost the entire bumper is also borrowed. In addition, if the new Volkswagen Tiguan in 2016 ceased to be a miniature copy of the Tuareg, then Ateka became it. Yes, there are some differences, but the overall concept is very clear and precise.
Compared to the concept that became the prototype for the crossover, the model has become more urban and flexible. The bumpers are now less aggressive, the overhangs are longer, and the bumper angle on the lower edge of the bumper is smaller. Thus, VAG clearly says that this model does not pretend to be an SUV class and will not close the Atek out of the asphalt.
The back looks the most attractive of all angles. It is from here that the German breed is visible. Formally, of course, the crossover is from Spain, but in fact it is from there. So, it is from here that the relationship with Tiguan is best seen, which is expressed in similar optics, angular stamping, the shape of the rear window, the shape of the spoiler, and so on. A quick glance is enough to understand this.

Inside, the Germans thought out everything carefully. You open the door, sit behind the wheel and see the first generation Volkswagen Tiguan instrument panel in front of you. On the one hand, it seems that the manufacturer has collected all outdated technologies here, on the other hand, this suggests that proven, high-quality parts are installed in the car, which will serve faithfully for a long time.
This is not all. The car is also equipped with the same head unit with navigation, AUX and Bluetooth as in the new Tiguan. But the shape of the torpedo is different, and, admittedly, for the better. In this regard, the new Seat Ateka 2016-2017 bypasses its counterpart. Climate control is also common, but on the central tunnel you can find controls that are not in the German version, but, whatever one may say, the Seat Atek configuration is still poorer than that of a colleague from VW. So, for example, the buyer will not get control over the passive safety systems, however, the washer for controlling the operating modes of the machine is still present, we will talk about it a little later.
Now a little about the materials. The seats are upholstered in faux suede, while the quality of the plastic in the cabin leaves much to be desired. On the other hand, the manufacturer made places such as door handles, armrests, and the central box on the tunnel quite pleasant to the touch, so there will be no discomfort, in addition, I would like to note the abundant use of chrome parts, however, everyone knows the quality of chrome plating of plastic parts in car interiors. ...
If you look closely, you can notice the use of rather thick glasses, and in the rear-view mirror you can see the indicator of the blind spot monitoring system.

As for the technical equipment, it is made in the style of the VAG concern. There are many engines to choose from, while the drivetrain is also unlimited. It offers everything from a five-speed manual to a seven-speed DSG robot.
A little more about him, namely, about the puck. It has icons for the operating modes of the robotic box. It can be urban, sports, winter, mountain and economy. Moreover, to say that these are box control modes would be somehow wrong. When you switch to a sporty one, for example, the steering wheel will become heavier, the suspension is stiffer, and the engine will turn more willingly. Therefore, the well-coordinated work of all car systems has been worked out here.
Let's start simple. Or rather, from the weak. The basic equipment is equipped with a 115 horsepower liter engine. Its torque is 200 Nm, which allows such a crumb to accelerate Atek to a hundred in 12 seconds, while the maximum speed will be 183 km / h. There are only three cylinders, the mixture into which is fed under supercharging. Such an engine will require about 5 liters of gasoline in the combined cycle.
Further in the hierarchy is a power unit with a volume of 1.4 liters. It is equipped with a system for shutting off a pair of cylinders without load, which significantly reduces fuel consumption, which here will be the same 5 liters, however, given that this is 1.4, the power of which is 150 horsepower, then you understand that this alignment is more pleasant than the previous one. ... So, with such a motor, Seat Ateka will accelerate to a hundred in 9.8 seconds. The maximum speed will be 201 km / h. This engine has already proven itself well on many cars of the VAG concern. Here the buyer can already choose between a mechanic or a robot. Moreover, with such a motor, the buyer can also choose four-wheel or front-wheel drive, which makes the package very attractive.
A pleasant surprise awaits diesel supporters too. It is represented by an engine with a volume of 1.6 liters, the power of which is also equal to 115 horsepower, as in the previous case. The maximum speed of this configuration will be 184 km / h. Fuel consumption is also not bad, despite the fact that it is a diesel engine, even for it 4.2 liters per hundred is very little. This result was achieved precisely thanks to the same no-load cylinder shutdown system.
Another diesel engine has a volume of 2 liters and a capacity of 150 horses. This is enough to accelerate to a hundred in 8.3 seconds, the maximum speed stopped at 196. If you add fuel consumption of 4.9 liters of diesel fuel to this, then such characteristics become very attractive. All-wheel drive can be safely added to this. Therefore, this particular configuration is likely to become the sales leader.
The top power unit also runs on diesel fuel, but it is boosted to 190 horses. Of course, with him the car is "in full stuffing." The maximum speed is already slightly exceeding 210 km / h, but the fuel consumption continues to please: 5 liters of diesel fuel in the combined cycle. Price and configuration for the new Seat Ateca 2016-2017
Seat Ateka will not be sold in Russia, since the company has completely left our market. The reason for this was the fall in sales by 40 percent, and the scandal with the readings of consumption and harmful emissions did not benefit the concern. As for Europe, the price of Seat Atek in 2016 will be about 23 thousand euros for the basic configuration. The Europeans have to pay the maximum up to 30 thousand euros.
