Who among us has not dreamed of amazing machines that will accompany life in the distant future? For most, this has remained a fantasy, but someone became a designer and managed to make their childhood or youth dreams come true.

What cars can be considered today as a kind of "guests from the future" that open up the prospects for a new development of the automotive industry? Let's see and be surprised!

1. Rolls Royce 103ex

The electric car “drone” is designed for people who value luxury and seek to anticipate the future. The British luxury car brand Rolls-Royce, part of BMW AG, has created a fully electronically controlled concept car for the first time in its history.

Not one iota deviating from the high standards inherent in machines of this brand, the model is equipped with revolutionary innovations. The roof, moving along special hinged guides, similar to a "folding bed", opens independently.

Thanks to such an original engineering solution, the driver and passengers can get into the car without bending down, after which the doors and the roof are closed automatically.

Many of the distinctive Rolls-Royce details and shapes are still reflected in the exterior. The classic branded grille has undergone restyling, becoming smaller in size, but gaining more expressiveness.

The wheels of the concept car are placed in special insulated containers, only the wings and struts connected to the chassis protrude outward. Due to this design, the integrity of the front of the machine is maintained.

In the Rolls Royce 103ex, everything is designed to infuse a modern AI car with the spirit of luxury carriages, horses and a coachman.

In the interior trim of the passenger compartment, a firm "no" is said of any mechanicalness - only undisguised luxury is appropriate here. None of the familiar vehicle controls. The electric car is completely subordinated to the idea of automatic control.

Owners of an elite car should not fool themselves with control at all. For this, there are electronic brains capable of adjusting all the functionality for any of the owners of the miracle machine. Interactive toolkits allow any person from among the future owners at the stage of creating a car to make adjustments for "yourself, your beloved."

The concept's innovative lightweight platform is made of composite materials for added durability. Rolls Royce 103ex is almost 6 meters long and 1.6 meters high. In terms of external parameters, it is somewhat reminiscent of the Phantom long-wheelbase sedan.

Respectable people cannot get out of such a car “just on the ground”. In front of them, after the automatic opening of the doors, a red virtual carpet will always be projected.

The concept car has been made, but no one can name the launch dates for even the single-piece Rolls Royce 103ex models.

2. Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6

The new concept coupe from Mercedes-Benz is capable of capturing the hearts of science fiction fans. The two-door prototype is equipped with a power plant consisting of four electric motors producing 750 hp in total.

The Mercedes-Benz concept accelerates to hundreds of kilometers from a standstill in 4 seconds, while the speed is limited to 250 km / h forcibly.

The entire system of electric motors is powered by a capacitive battery of 80 kilowatt / hour. The car is capable of covering 500 kilometers without recharging. The battery is recharged in three ways:

  • from a household electrical network;
  • at a special station;
  • using induction.

The prototype is 5.7 meters long, 2.1 meters wide, and 1.3 meters high. The concept car has a "door of the future" type "gull wing" and huge wheels of 24 inches.

The control panel is represented by a display across the entire width of the car, and information about some related data is displayed on the windshield - temperature, gps coordinates, etc.

Smart sensors are built into the seats inside the cabin, which can regulate the temperature inside the concept car and change the position of the seat for a specific person.

The "trick" was the independent ability of the car to change the color of the interior lighting based on the color preferences of passengers in clothes. Also Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 has autonomous control systems.

While the concept car exists in a single copy and there is no information about serial production.

3. Aston Martin AM-RB 001

Aston Martin, with the help of the Red Bull Racing Formula 1 team, has created the Am-Rb 001 hypercar designed for auto racing. Engineers have managed to achieve a wonderful combination of power and weight in a ratio of 1: 1.

For track racing, 25 examples of the car will be produced, and 150 road versions will go on sale. The price of the most modest model in this Aston Martin lineup promises to be at least 2 million pounds.

In the hypercar, everything is made of carbon fiber elements, made with the participation of the most famous Formula 1 engineer, Adrian Newey. According to available information, the "heart" of the Aston Martin Am-Rb 001 will be an aspirated V12, capable of producing one horsepower per kilogram of car weight.

4. Nissan BladeGlider

At the Rio de Janeiro Auto Show, Nissan unveiled a new version of the BladeGlider concept car with a triangular body. The electric car is designed as a three-seater, and the driver's seat is located in the center of the car in the first row "on the edge", and two passenger seats are traditionally behind the driver.

The concept is 4.3 meters long, 1.85 meters high, and 1.3 meters wide. The machine of the future is powered by two 130 kW electric motors, powered by a set of lithium-ion batteries with a total capacity of 220 kW / h, allowing you to move without recharging at least 160 kilometers. The batteries transmit power to the rear wheels of the sports car.

The prototype, with its mass of 1300 kg, takes from place to place (up to test 100 km / h) in 5 seconds, while the maximum it can reach speeds of up to 190 km / h. The BladeGlider propulsion system is capable of supporting several modes of operation. The driver can choose to drift mode or prefer a set of settings designed to improve the handling of the concept car.

The future of the model is still vague, but Nissan is clearly not going to dwell on the achievements of Nissan.

5. Faraday FFZero1

Back in 2016, at the Consumer Electronics Show, traditionally held in Las Vegas, Faradey Future unveiled the FFZero1 electric concept car, quickly dubbed the Batmobile version by journalists.

Lightweight composites and carbon fiber were used to create the car, as well as extra strong glass for the roof and a high-tech sports suspension.

FFZero1 was designed with an eye to participation in track races. The car therefore has incomparable aerodynamics, a very stylish body, executed aggressively and effectively, and a very low seating position. The headlights in the concept car are made as a single unit, the smartphone acts as a dashboard, located in the steering wheel.

The concept car is, in fact, a single-seater electric sports car, futuristic not only in its exterior, but also in its interior. The driver's seat is located in the cabin at an angle of 45 degrees, which improves blood circulation and provides a high level of comfort to the daredevil who dares to get behind the wheel. A special integrated system monitors the driver's head and neck support, supplying the pilot with oxygen and water using a helmet.

The engine is capable of delivering 1000 hp, reaching speeds of up to 100 km / h in three seconds. According to the design documentation, the car can move at a speed of 320 km / h.

Among other things, Faraday FFZero1 has quite a lot of technological features for the possibility of a free Internet connection, safe driving and driving with the use of automatic control transfer functions.

Those models that will be created after the prototype will be able to drive in the "autonomous" mode not only on city roads, but also on the track. Sounds tempting, especially when you consider that a person becomes just an appendage to such a smart machine.

The markets for possible serial models of the concept car can be the United States and China, for this purpose the American company Faraday Future has attracted the Chinese media holding LeTV to participate in the creation of the concept car. The first production cars are expected to be released in the near future.

6. BMW Vision Next 100

German manufacturers BMW also decided to look into the future of the automotive industry with a concept car using "living geometry". In this original way, the 100th anniversary of the founding of the company was celebrated. The length of the concept car is almost 5 meters, the height reaches 1.37 meters.

The prototype can work in two modes - Ease and Boost. Boost mode is "traditional", which requires a driver who can drive a car. The head-up display, which is the windshield, is constantly updated with information about the speed limit, the trajectories of the bends.

If there is poor visibility on the street due to rain, snowfall or fog, the smart car additionally displays information from sensors about the presence of vehicles capable of crossing the Vision Next 100 trajectory, thus taking care of safety.

Ease mode means putting the car in automatic driving mode.

The seats of the front passenger and the driver move, becoming in a "face to face" position, and the projection screen begins to broadcast information at the request of passengers, brightening up their leisure time during the trip. The road is already fully monitored by automation.

In the concept car, more than 800 important elements are made in the shape of a triangle, and they are located both on the body components and on the control console.

The developers of the concept car successfully combined analog technologies with digital ones, duplicating the data from the working display with the help of moving elements. The driver will always remain aware of the direction of movement, turns, possible lane changes due to oncoming traffic or traffic jams.

The onboard electronics of the Vision Next 100 are completely tailored to the individual driver's preferences, fully adapting to them for maximum convenience in driving the concept car.

During autopilot operation, the car constantly receives information from all road users and is even able to take into account the movement of pedestrians. She warns them with light signals that the car will let them pass lawfully. The main thing is that the pedestrians themselves know about the remarkable electronic brains.

7. Renault Trezor

Renault is also taking an active part in the race for the automotive industry to create the vehicles of the future. The first prototype of the Trezor electric sports car was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show, which is powered by the electric motor used in racing cars.

The sports car under the hood stores the power of 350 hp. The "test" acceleration to 100 km / h is carried out by the French car in 4 seconds.

The heart of the machine is an electric motor powered by a pair of batteries located at the front and rear of the machine. Each battery has its own cooling system. Also, the creators of the Trezor used the latest developments in Formula-E cars, introducing an energy recovery system into the brainchild.

The dimensions of the car are kept within the average supercars. Length - 4.7 meters, width - 2.2 meters, height - 1.1 meters.

The complete concept car weighs 1.6 tonnes and has 21-inch wheels at the front and 22-inch wheels at the rear. The body parts are made of carbon fiber using modern technologies, but there are no traditional doors at all. To get into the salon, you need to fold back the entire upper part of the roof.

The style of Formula 1 cars is felt in the design very strongly. So, the steering wheel is now rectangular, and the information necessary for the driver is displayed directly on it on three screens.

In addition to being controlled by a person, the car can move autonomously, recognize smartphones and has specialized screens with OLED technology.

The concept car still exists in a single copy, and whether there will be a serial continuation is still unknown.

Conclusion

In any case, the amazing machines created by futuristic engineers are amazing. Their forms are so non-standard that they seem to be real "aliens from the future."
