The new sporty Ford Focus ST 2019 is officially presented to the public. According to preliminary data, the start of sales is scheduled for the summer of 2019, the price will be announced closer to summer... Unlike the sold version of the Focus, the new product will differ in a retuned suspension, as well as an automatic transmission and a turbo engine from the European Mustang. It is reliably known that the novelty will be equipped with both a gasoline and a diesel engine. On the body, as before, a hatchback or station wagon is available. The currently sold Ford Focus model is equipped with a 2.0-liter EcoBoost gasoline engine with 250 horsepower and a maximum torque of 360 Nm. In the new model, it will be replaced by a modernized EcoBoost with a volume of 2.3 liters, 280 horsepower and 420 Nm.
A 6-speed manual transmission is installed in tandem with the new engine; as an option, they offer a 7-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters for convenient gear shifting. According to testing, the new 2019 Ford Focus ST will be able to overcome the first hundred on the speedometer in less than 6 seconds, the current version on sale from 0 to 100 km / h can accelerate in 6.5 seconds. The 2.0-liter turbocharged TDCi diesel engine has been replaced by a new 2.0-liter EcoBlue engine with 190 horsepower (400 Nm maximum torque). With a diesel engine, unlike the petrol configuration, only a 6-speed manual transmission is available.
The dimensions of the new Ford Focus ST 2019 have also changed, it was lowered by 10 mm, while installing stiffer suspension springs (front by 20%, rear by 13%). The steering mechanism of the new Focus was also shortened by 15%, which increased the steering response to steering by the driver. According to the general characteristics, the engineers also modified the braking system, setting discs at 330 mm in front and 302 mm in diameter at the rear. Electronics were not left aside, the driver is offered a choice of three main modes: normal, sport and for driving on wet surfaces. The manufacturer has equipped the petrol version of the new Ford Focus ST 2019 quite well, it was equipped with adaptive shock absorbers and a special eLSD differential with electrically controlled locking. In order to finally underline the sporty style of the new Ford, the Performance Pack is offered as an option, the launch control of the car. We also added a system of automatic retention of engine speed, depending on the driving style and at the time of gear shifting (for a manual transmission). In the diesel version, such a gentleman's set will not be available.
If we compare the appearance of the new Ford Focus ST 2019 and the current generation, then in the new product the differences fell on the radiator grill. A massive spoiler is installed at the rear of the hatchback, as well as alloy wheels with a special design. When this is not enough, then the choice of the buyer is offered two exclusive body colors Orange Fury and rich Performance Blue. The interior of the new Focus ST 2019 also featured a special sporty design, the designers installed Recaro sports seats and modern aluminum pedals.
The front panel of the Ford Focus is distinguished by metal overlays on the ventilation deflectors. The details include gray stitching of the seats, a Wi-Fi hotspot (you can connect up to 10 devices at the same time) and the modern Ford SYNC 3 multimedia system based on an 8 ″ touch screen. The system simultaneously supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which also served as a plus. With additional safety systems and assistants, the driver is listed:

- Stop and Go system;
- help system at start and stop;
- automatic switching of high and low beam;
- parking assistant;
- active maneuvering assistant.
What else will delight the new Ford Focus ST 2019 will become clear only after the official start of sales.
