Well-known car models, in particular SUVs, are very popular in a non-standard form. The more standard the equipment and technical characteristics, the more expensive this model will cost the future buyer. There are not many SUVs with a 6x6 wheelbase in the world, although the usual production model has a 4x4 wheelbase. One of the latest examples of SUVs, now a 6x6 pickup truck is the Jeep Gladiator, developed by So Flo Jeeps (South Florida, USA). A monster with a new look will not go unnoticed on the road.
For the new Jeep Gladiator 6 × 6, it was necessary to lengthen the frame, the platform for the cargo. In fact, the pickup was cut in two. The reason for this cut was the third wheel axle, while the front and rear axles, axles and other details remained original. The third axle was cut between the first and second by adding a 229mm differential (Detroit True Track Locker). It is this differential that can ensure the operation of all 6 wheels, both in the standard version and on all-wheel drive.
This kind of refinement of the Jeep Gladiator suspension made it possible to increase the ground clearance by 120 mm. Now, according to company representatives, the suspension travel per wheel is 355 mm, and 38 ″ toothed tires are installed for better traction on off-road surfaces. Naturally, improvements have been made to the steering, the new Jeep Gladiator pickup is equipped with Falcon steering, which made it more flexible in handling.
It is clear that for such a monster there must be an appropriate engine. Under the hood of the 6-wheel Jeep Gladiator pickup truck is a 6.2-liter V8 LS3 gasoline taken from the Chevrolet Corvette. What capacity of the unit has not yet been specified, and it is similar whether it was forced. However, such an engine added an additional $ 30,000 to the pickup's value. Not without a 300 horsepower diesel engine.
Refinement also touched upon the design part of the Jeep Gladiator. The radiator grill was joined together with the front bumper, thereby giving a formidable look to the new product. The hood of the pickup is made of fiberglass, and additional LED headlights are installed in the front bumper for better illumination. A special, austere design is given by the body color, it was made of a protective layer (epoxy resin and kevlar fiber).
The interior of the new pickup was hand-tightened with special black leather, with a high level of wear resistance. As with the original SUV, the roof and side doors remain removable. To get into the salon, side steps were installed under the bottom, with automatic operation when the door was opened. If the doors are removed, then the steps will be in constant readiness mode (open for boarding the passenger compartment). Now about the price, the new Jeep Gladiator 6 × 6, with a gasoline engine, will cost $ 140,000, if equipped with a diesel unit, the price will be $ 150,000.
